Colour, in two lights
A colour that looks right at ten in the morning can look quite different under a lamp at nine at night. So Laura judges it in both, before you paint.

Why two lights
Morning. Daylight from a window is cooler and flatter. Greys turn blue, and greens go quiet.
Evening. A lamp is warm and low. Pinks deepen, whites turn cream, and the corners of the room fall away.
Both. A plan that only works in one light only works half the day, so the patches are judged in each.
